1) Check the air filter (if furnace).
2) Check the batteries in the thermostat.
3) What type of gas do you have serving your home? If propane, check the tank; when temps drop, we use substantially more gas and can run out sooner than expected.
4) Check to be sure the power switch is in the on position, and the breaker is on in the panel.
5) If all the above checks out, call (231) 489-1700 for service!
The first thing to do is turn the system off and then check your air filter. If it is dirty, replace it. Let the ice melt, keeping an eye out for any water that might leak out from the thawing process. Once thawed, restart the system. If the problem continues, you will need service.

3) Check for water leaking from around the unit. If you see water on the floor, call for service!
